What half-life means, in plain terms

Why the half-life explains cigarette cravings

The ~2-hour half-life is why smokers reach for a cigarette every couple of hours. Nicotine levels in a smoker peak shortly after each cigarette, then decline along that 2-hour curve; when they drop far enough, withdrawal and craving kick in, and the smoker doses again.
